If AOC complains about having to pay for Blue Check, Elon Musk has the perfect response.

The new Twitter CEO, Elon Musk, wants to charge $8 per month for the verification symbol, and this has the liberal blue checkmarks in an uproar. As the billionaire put it, this would give “power back to the people,” create a superior service, and give the platform “an income stream to compensate content producers.”

Progressives, including Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, have concerns with the proposal.

She joked that she was “Lmao at a billionaire honestly attempting to sell folks on the concept that ‘free expression’ is actually an $8/mo membership plan” on Twitter.

Musk didn’t bother elaborating that free Twitter would still be an option for anyone who didn’t want to pay for the upgraded service.

He told the supporter, “Your opinion is valued; now spend $8,” before directing them to the progressive’s campaign website, where he saw a hoodie for $58.
