Granted, this is a questionable issue, but despite the countless attempts to destroy Donald Trump’s political career, he has yet to be prosecuted. The Democratic Party made two failed attempts to impeach him. There has been a flurry of state-level inquiries into the former president, but so far, they have turned up zero evidence against him. Trump’s demise after the 2022 midterm elections is well documented (Spencer has more on this morning), so Joe Biden may sit back and enjoy the show. A horrible reality about Mr. Biden has emerged in light of Trump’s downfall and the Republican Party’s failure to secure a resounding victory in this year’s elections: he must be the luckiest guy in politics.
President Biden has now lost two presidential elections. In 1988, when he was forced to stop his presidential campaign due to a plagiarism controversy, voters rejected him. Biden barely made it through the Iowa caucuses in 2008, when it was a Hillary and Obama show. In 2020, a younger, more dynamic candidate field revealed Biden’s shallowness and made him appear like he’d been cooked. In a deliberate and careful manner, Biden waited for each supposedly major figure to withdraw, and when they did, he jumped in.
The liberal from Delaware made it through the primary, but now he has to face a dynamic president in Trump with a flourishing economy on his side. Then a pandemic of a respiratory illness that had its origins in Wuhan, China, spread over the world, locking everyone indoors and sending the economy into a tailspin. With the dawn of the COVID period, Biden conducted his campaign activities mostly in a basement. Biden’s strategy from the primaries carried over into the debates when he once again sat back and allowed his opponents to make errors (this time, it was Trump). The former president’s belligerence and bluster likely turned off some undecided voters. Biden won the election, despite some shady dealings that I won’t get into here, but you know what I’m talking about.
From his perch in the Oval Office, it’s easy to understand why Biden didn’t do well in the primaries: he lacks even the most basic qualifications to hold the presidency. In terms of his cognitive abilities, he has taken more than a half-step back. His lack of charm, lack of respect, and drowsiness make him an unappealing leader. His poor approval ratings reflect the belief that he is a bumbling idiot. He hasn’t addressed a single problem or made any progress toward improving any situation. We’re in the midst of a recession and dealing with a surge in crime and excessive inflation. He still has a chance of leaving Congress with a divided chamber.
There has never been a better time for the Republican Party to generate a red wave, and they botched it. Democrats in tight races practically begged President Biden to stay away, and he complied so that his party could keep the Senate. Right now, the Republican majority in the House is probably between three and five seats. The odds were stacked against Biden, and yet he was able to lead the Democrats to victory in a midterm election year when the president’s party is traditionally decimated.
No infectious disease pandemic, not even COVID, could end his chances at the presidency. Voters weren’t convinced to support Republicans en masse in the recent midterms due to his unpopular agenda and blatant incompetence in office. It was expected that the Democratic Party would use a severe beating to convince Biden not to run for reelection. This justification is no longer an issue. Biden’s lack of political skills is to blame for these occurrences. We can only attribute it to sheer luck, an unbelievable run of good fortune.
