Projects at NBC News, According to Nolte, In a close vote, the Republicans were able to take control of the House.

In its most recent prediction, the far-left NBC News claims that the Republican Party will win the House of Representatives by a razor-thin 219-216 margin.

If this forecast comes true, Republicans will breathe a sigh of relief and celebrate one of the few bright spots in a dismal midterm performance.

Despite my confidence, the Republican Party did not ride a wave to victory.

If the final tally holds, the Democrats will have gained at least one more member in the pivotal United States Senate. If incumbent Democrat U.S. Senator Raphael Warnock had beaten incumbent Republican Herschel Walker in Georgia’s runoff election in December, the Democrats would have won a significant electoral victory. Warnock did win last week, and he did so by nearly a whole point over Walker. There must be a runoff election since no candidate received more than half of the vote.

In a worst-case scenario, the Democrats win the Senate and take control of both houses of Congress. If the Democrats take back the Senate, they won’t need Arizona’s Krysten Sinema or West Virginia’s Joe Manchin to get anything done. This might be the end of the filibuster that Senators Manchin and Sinema have refused to stop.

Without the ability to filibuster, the Senate would be free to approve whatever insane measure it wanted, including the expansion of the Supreme Court, socialized medicine, and who knows what else, and the Democratically controlled House would just rubber stamp it.

At least the Senate’s impending insanity will be checked by the Republican-controlled House.

Remember that NBC has already messed up a House prediction. The national news network NBC projected three days earlier that the Republicans would win the House by a more comfortable 222-212 majority.

    So.

In this crazy election year, nothing is guaranteed until current House Minority Leader Rep. Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) or whoever is handed that gavel by current House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA).
