On Thursday in Las Vegas, a kid aged 16 died after experiencing a “medical issue” while playing flag football.

According to the Las Vegas Review-Journal, Ashari Hughes, a sophomore at Desert Oasis High School, fell at around 7:30 p.m. while playing a home game versus Valley High School. Despite emergency medical services, the student was pronounced deceased at the hospital.

According to Fox 5, Hughes “suffered a medical issue during a sports event” and was treated by personnel until paramedics arrived at Desert Oasis High School.

I regret to tell you that the pupil passed away. “This is a tragic loss for our school and community,” Salzman wrote.

Family members told Fox 5 that Hughes had gone to the sideline with chest pains during the game before she fell.

Due to her continuing cardiovascular difficulties, Hughes’ family allegedly contemplated taking her out of athletics. Her relatives pointed out that she had gotten the doctor’s okay to compete in sports.

The reason for Hughes’ death has not been announced by the Clark County Coroner’s Office.

Two hours after it was uploaded on Friday afternoon, the GoFundMe campaign set up by Hughes’ family to gather money for funeral expenses had already surpassed the $2,000 goal. On Saturday afternoon, the event’s fundraising total topped $24,000, well exceeding the initial target of $50,000.

She said that football was her one true love. “She loved deeply and was deeply loved,” her loved ones stated. We shall all miss her very much.

On Monday night, Buffalo Bills safety Damar Hamlin fell and died during his team’s game against the Cincinnati Bengals. The teen’s death occurred three days later. The group reported on Friday that Hamlin has had his breathing tube removed and can communicate with his teammates and loved ones.
