On Friday, former Vice President Mike Pence stated that he is accepting full responsibility for the classified documents found in his home earlier this week.

According to CNN’s reporting, Pence has handed over the documents to the FBI. It is said that the discovery came after the Justice Department had appointed two special counsels to look into allegations that President Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump had mishandled classified materials.

Pence requested a search of his Indiana home and the headquarters of his political advocacy group, Advancing American Freedom, after it was reported that secret information had been found in Biden’s office at the Penn Biden Center, a Washington think tank associated with the University of Pennsylvania (AAF). No sensitive materials were discovered during the AAF search of Pence’s office.

Pence told Fox News, “I am still fairly certain that throughout my tenure in the U.S. Congress, we were attentive and very cautious.” For the same reason, “during my term as vice president, we were…”

“However, in the administration’s last days, mistakes were made when packaging and assembling goods, some of which were shipped to our residence,” he claimed. It was only when we ran the review a few weeks ago that we found out about it. However, I take full responsibility for it, and we will continue to support any impartial examination of it.

I would leave that option to the attorney general and the Department of Justice,” Pence responded when asked if a special counsel should be appointed to handle his case.

Pence remarked, “Once again, I find this disappointing development.” Our agency must cooperate entirely with the Justice Department, the National Archives, and the United States Congress.

A month after personal items were discovered in President Joe Biden’s home and office, rumors have spread that former Vice President Mike Pence’s home also contains sensitive documents.

CNN claimed that federal investigators were ready to get a search warrant to access Biden’s residence if he refused to grant authorization, despite Biden’s camp’s statement that they cooperated with the DOJ.

An unnamed insider informed CNN, “You want somebody looking at stuff, know what to look for.” The FBI, not the attorneys, is in charge of acquiring evidence. Whoever receives this knowledge must have permission to do so.

According to CNN, Robert Hur’s investigation as special counsel is a “full-blown criminal probe.”

A week before the 2022 midterm elections, on November 2, confidential documents about Biden were discovered in his private office at the Penn Biden Center, a think tank in Washington, D.C. After that, Biden’s legal team uncovered classified documents at his Wilmington, Delaware, home on three separate occasions: on December 20 (an undetermined number), on January 11 (one document in Biden’s study), and on January 12 (five more documents in the study).

Former U.S. Attorney Hur, who served under the Trump administration, was appointed as special counsel in the inquiry at the advice of U.S. Attorney for the Northern District of Illinois John Lausch, who was entrusted with completing an initial examination of the matter.
