Jeb Bush Weighs In On Trump Indictment

Bush claims that whether or not the grand jury decides to indict Trump “is not a matter of justice.”

Trump’s indictment by the Manhattan grand jury during his third attempt for the presidency has been called “very political” and “not a matter of justice” by former Florida governor and GOP presidential candidate Jeb Bush.

Bush, who ran against Trump in the 2016 Republican primary, wrote that the Manhattan district attorney’s office recently took up a case that other lawyers had previously declined to pursue.

During the 2016 election, George P. Bush II tweeted, “Bragg’s predecessor didn’t take up the case, the Justice Department didn’t take up the case, and Bragg originally said he wouldn’t take up the case. This is very political, not a matter of justice.”

His next words were, “In this case, let the jury decide.”

Trump’s attorney, Joe Tacopina, said on Thursday night that his client could be arrested next week on more than 30 charges, though the specifics of the allegation remain classified.

For the 2016 presidential race, Bragg has been looking into whether or not Trump paid off witnesses to silence his opponents. Ex-Playboy model Karen McDougal received $150,000, and actress Stormy Daniels received $130,000.

Fox News revealed in 2018 and provided evidence that McDougal, Daniels, and the United States government had all gotten funds that had not been disclosed. Both the FEC and the United States investigated these funds. U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York.

Despite Cohen’s testimony as part of a plea deal that Trump knew about the payment to Daniels, federal prosecutors in New York’s Southern District chose not to pursue charges against Trump in 2019. The Federal Election Commission also abandoned the investigation in 2021.

Biden pressing proceedings against a former U.S. president would “backfire,” according to Trump, who called Bragg “obsessed” with “getting Trump.”

Trump said in a statement, “This is the highest level of political persecution and election meddling in history.” “The Radical Left Democrats, the enemy of the hard-working men and women of this Country, have been on a Witch-Hunt to destroy the Make America Great Again movement ever since I came down the golden escalator at Trump Tower,” Trump added.

Bush’s remarks are consistent with those of other Republican politicians.

On Thursday, Republican House Leader Kevin McCarthy of California tweeted that Kavanaugh had “turned our sacred system of justice against President Trump” by routinely letting dangerous felons back into society to torment the public. Because the American people “will not stand for this injustice,” Alvin Bragg will be held accountable by the House of Representatives for his unparalleled abuse of power.

Congressional representative for Louisiana’s Republican party, Steve Scalise, tweeted on Thursday that the “sham New York indictment of President Donald Trump is one of the clearest examples of extreme Democrats using the government to attack their political opponents.”

One of the many concerns being posed about Trump is whether or not he stored classified documents related to his presidency at his Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida.
