Trump pleaded not guilty to 34 counts of filing fake company papers on Tuesday in New York City.
Alvin Bragg, the Manhattan District Attorney, is still getting criticism from people of all political stripes about how strong his case against the former president is. He is also getting criticism from Democrats about his move to charge Donald Trump.
At his hearing in Manhattan Criminal Court on Tuesday, Trump pleaded not guilty to 34 charges of first-degree falsifying company records. Last week, an official charge against him was given by a grand jury.
People on both sides of the political spectrum have been very harsh on Bragg since the unusual arrest. Some have even accused him of using the law as a political weapon.
Sammy Ravelo, a former police officer and Democrat voter, criticized Bragg on “Fox & Friends” for focusing on the case against Trump while crime in New York City continues to cause chaos on the streets.
My whole theory is based on the fact that Alvin Bragg, the worst prosecutor in America, will be in charge of Trump’s case. Bragg “would not prosecute a Black-on-Black crime or a Latino-on-Latino crime,” which is why he won’t be in charge of Trump’s case. On Wednesday, Ravelo told Ainsley Earhardt that he would free the prisoners. While that is going on, he starts to criticize a former president.
The United States is going through a very bad time. He went on to say that nothing should make us happy.
The charge is based on claims that the former president was paid hush money before the 2016 election. It is the result of Bragg’s years-long investigation of the former president.
Stormy Daniels, who has been in adult movies, got $130,000 and Karen McDougal, who used to be a model for Playboy, got $15,000. Both women got money to keep quiet about the affairs they said they had with Trump, which he has always denied.
The money were looked into by both the Federal Election Commission and the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York. (FEC).
In 2019, federal officials in New York’s Southern District found that Trump did nothing wrong with the Daniels payment. In 2021, the FEC also gave up on its investigation.
Later in the show, Ravelo said, “I think we’re focusing on the wrong thing, and this could go wrong.”
Marissa Caro-Cortese, who voted for the Democrats, agreed with Ravelo. She said that she is “not a fan” of the former president and that she was “expecting more” from the claims.
She finally said, “I’ve had enough.” If we’re going to single out politicians for their business dealings and dig deep into what they did in the past, we should look into everything they did. He is not the first person to do this.
I’ll say it again: I’m not trying to defend him. She went on to say, “I would never back President Trump, but I think there is too much noise and we should just let it go so we can focus on the real problem.”
Bragg said that his office found “additional evidence” that changed the course of the investigation, even though they had decided not to look into the case before.
After his arraignment on Tuesday, Bragg told reporters, “We have a clear, strong, and I would say profound independent interest in New York state.” The center of the world economy is here. False company claims are something we see a lot of. Keeping accurate records is the key to a reliable business and a strong economy. This is the charge that got you here: forging company papers in the state of New York.
Bragg has been criticized for how he treats violent criminals, but he has also been questioned for how he treated the previous president.
FOX BrainRoom says that more than half of all felony charges were changed to crimes while Bragg was in office last year. From the year before, there was a 13% rise.
The number of criminal cases that finished with a verdict also went down by 18% last year.
Dominick Ciccarelli, an independent voter, said that the district attorney was motivated by politics and that most Americans cared more about other problems that affected their families.
Ciccarelli said, “Alvin Bragg has spent his whole career keeping criminals out of jail, so I can’t believe this isn’t politically motivated.” The hidden money paid to Stormy Daniels is just as interesting to Americans as the sexual assault payments paid to Bill Clinton and Paula Jones.
“What the American people care about is that presidents get richer while they are in office and that people become presidents or maybe political figures to make money for themselves,” he said. The author writes that Trump “almost came out with less money than when he went in” because he gave up his personal life to help the country. “I think America really appreciates that Trump puts America first and works hard for America.”
Trump won’t be back in court until December.
