The newest edition of “Saturday Night Live” began with a Donald Trump lookalike interrupting The Last Supper and drawing parallels between the indictment of the former president and the persecution of Jesus.

One of you will betray me, Jesus (Mikey Day) stated on the NBC program. It has been predicted. To be arrested, convicted, and found guilty even though I have done nothing wrong.

James Austin Johnson, in character as Trump on SNL, interrupted Day by asking the audience whether the son of God’s predicament seemed familiar before Day could continue.

“If you haven’t put it together folks, I’m comparing myself to Jesus, again,” Trump, played by Johnson, continued. “A famous, wonderful man arrested for no reason at all.”

Currently, the figure is being persecuted “even worse than the late, great Jesus,” he or she stated.

The former president, now 76 years old, was charged on Tuesday on 34 felony counts of fabricating corporate documents, carrying a maximum sentence of 136 years in prison. Even if found guilty at trial, the penalty would likely be far lighter.

The false Trump said that he and the Christian messiah were quite similar.

“We’re both very tall, very popular, and frankly white Americans,” he added of the Galilean Semite.

Trump began comparing himself to Jesus at this point, with Johnson’s Trump noting, in classic Trump form, “He rose from the grave on the third day. If I could go back in time, I would do it more quickly. Maybe in two days. I really feel like we could have sped things up a lot.

The characterization continued, “All because I told them exactly what Jesus would have said, ‘Get very violent and start a war.'”

The protagonist then drew a parallel between his connection with Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, his potential Republican opponent in 2024, and the betrayal of Jesus by Judas.

With tears in his eyes, Ron DeSantis walked to the figure and implored, “Help me, Mr. Trump, I’m going to lose my election.” Now he can’t even get the homosexuals kicked out of Disney World since I very kindly pretended to like him and he pulled a Judas.

Johnson’s Trump couldn’t help but try to diminish the wonder of Easter by saying that he is “even better” than Jesus since he is a self-made billionaire and Jesus was a “nepo baby,” fathered directly by God.

Coming full circle, Johnson’s Trump said, “I have many beautiful eggs from my time in the White House,” in reference to the cache of secret documents found at his house. The U.S. Department of Justice has now demanded to know, “Where are the eggs?” Please return the eggs. In any case, I concealed them. Those eggs are mine. Please don’t steal my eggs, OK?

All I did was be cordial to a sex worker, and now they want to put me in jail,” the fictitious Trump said, drawing parallels between Stormy Daniels and Mary Magdalene.

The “Easter hamburger” he would “hopefully” enjoy without his family was mentioned.

SNL-alum This show was hosted by Molly Shannon, and it featured performances by The Jonas Brothers.
