Trump Attorneys Plea To Meet With AG Garland On ‘Unfair Treatment’

Trump’s legal team has raised concerns about the perceived unfair treatment of the former president and has requested a meeting with Attorney General Merrick Garland to address the ongoing investigation. In a letter addressed to Garland, Trump’s attorneys emphasized that their client is being treated differently compared to President Biden, his son Hunter, and the Biden family.

The letter, written on behalf of Donald J. Trump, highlighted the team’s belief that the investigation led by the Special Counsel’s Office is reckless and illegal, making Trump the first president to be subjected to such scrutiny. Seeking to discuss the alleged continuous injustice perpetuated by the Special Counsel and prosecutors, Trump’s legal team requested an immediate meeting with Garland.

The timing of the letter coincides with Special Counsel Jack Smith’s reported efforts to conclude his investigation into the matter concerning Trump’s classified papers. It remains unclear when or if Smith will disclose the findings of the probe or make a decision regarding potential charges against Trump.

The events leading up to the letter include an FBI raid conducted at Trump’s Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida on August 8, 2022, in an attempt to recover sensitive materials. Subsequently, in November 2022, Attorney General Garland appointed Jack Smith as the special counsel to oversee the investigation.

As the situation unfolds, Trump’s legal team is seeking clarity and fairness in the handling of the investigation, while the public awaits further updates regarding the outcome and potential implications for the former president.
