JFK’s Grandson Speaks Out Against RFK Jr.’s ‘Embarrassing’ Candidacy

In a fiery Instagram post on Friday morning, Jack Schlossberg, President John F. Kennedy’s grandson, strongly criticized his cousin Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s presidential run and wholeheartedly endorsed President Joe Biden.

Robert F. Kennedy Jr., known for his prominent anti-vaccine views, had announced his candidacy for the 2024 Democratic primary, running against President Biden. Despite being a longshot candidate, Kennedy managed to garner around 14 percent of the Democratic primary vote. However, his campaign was marked by controversial and bizarre claims, such as suggesting that COVID-19 was designed to spare specific ethnic groups.

Schlossberg, a 30-year-old lawyer and the son of Caroline Kennedy, voiced his unwavering support for President Biden, lauding him as the potential “greatest progressive president” in the nation’s history. He argued that if his cousin truly cared about their family’s legacy, he would endorse the current occupant of the Oval Office instead of using the Kennedy name for personal gain and fame. Schlossberg described Kennedy’s candidacy as an “embarrassment” and urged against being distracted by a “vanity project.”

In the video, Schlossberg highlighted President Biden’s accomplishments, including his administration’s focus on infrastructure and green energy development, the appointment of numerous federal judges, ending the longest war, and effectively handling the COVID-19 pandemic. He believed that President Biden’s leadership had been transformative for the country.

This endorsement from Jack Schlossberg adds to the growing number of Kennedy clan members who have publicly supported President Biden’s 2024 reelection bid. Caroline Kennedy, Jack’s mother and the only surviving child of JFK, serves as the U.S. ambassador to Australia and is also a vocal supporter of Biden. Other family members, like Rory Kennedy (a documentary filmmaker), former Reps. Joe Kennedy III and Patrick Kennedy, and Victoria Kennedy (widow of Sen. Ted Kennedy), have also thrown their support behind the current president.

On the other hand, Robert F. Kennedy Jr. faced scrutiny and controversy, which culminated in his invitation to testify before the House Select Subcommittee on the Weaponization of the Federal Government. Despite objections from Democrats, the hearing proceeded, but House Speaker Kevin McCarthy was clear in disagreeing with Kennedy’s views, asserting that censorship was not the answer.
