Despite the Left’s claims of racism, country artist Jason Aldean stands by his anti-violence, pro-America song “Try That In A Small Town.” While performing in Cincinnati, he spoke out against his critics and defended his message of patriotism.
Aldean told his thousands of fans, “I’ve seen a lot of stuff suggesting I’m this, suggesting I’m that,” drawing boos from the audience as he acknowledged the difficult week he has had due to the criticism. Nonetheless, he stood behind his right to express his own views, saying, “Here’s the issue… I believe that each person has the right to their own viewpoint. No matter how strongly one believes something, that doesn’t make it so. In essence, I am a patriotic American. As a native New Yorker, I take great pride in my heritage.
Aldean’s video for the May release drew controversy after its premiere on July 14. As a result of the uproar caused by the Left’s charges, the music video was even taken from Country Music Television (CMT).
Aldean has made it obvious that he loves his country and wants to see it restored to its former grandeur, despite attempts to have him cancelled. The crowd cheered and chanted “USA! USA! USA!” in approval.
Despite the threats, “Try That In A Small Town” has continued to gain popularity, and it is currently the most downloaded song in the United States. Aldean continues to be unrepentant and dedicated to his message of patriotism.
