In a Twitter video posted during the early morning hours on Sunday, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu revealed that he must undergo an emergency heart procedure following his recent hospitalization.
Last Saturday, the 73-year-old leader was admitted to Sheba Medical Center in Tel Hashomer after losing consciousness and falling, resulting in a head injury. Initially, it was attributed to dehydration.
Netanyahu shared the update on his health, stating, “Last week, they gave me a monitoring device. The device alerted that I need a pacemaker, and I have to undergo the procedure tonight. I feel great, but I trust my doctors.”
He assured the public that the operation would be swift, adding, “The doctors tell me that I will be released tomorrow afternoon. I will be discharged from the hospital and ready to attend the Knesset for the vote.”
While Netanyahu undergoes surgery, Justice Minister Yariv Levin will serve as acting prime minister, ensuring continuity in the government.
Reports from local media indicate that the emergency procedure to implant the pacemaker is already underway.
