Press Shouts Questions about Hunter Biden Probe, Biden Just Walks By

Departing the White House en route to Delaware, President Biden exhibited a seasoned nonchalance in the face of a tumultuous uproar stemming from Attorney General Merrick Garland’s recent move to appoint a special counsel to spearhead the investigation involving his son, Hunter Biden.

New York Post reporter Steven Nelson’s camera captured the scene as reporters vied for the president’s attention. They hurled a barrage of questions at him about the freshly designated special counsel, allegations of his connection to Hunter’s international business escapades, and the potential initiation of an impeachment process by the House of Representatives.

Although a fleeting smile briefly graced Biden’s countenance, he remained unperturbed by the cacophony of cameras, resolutely striding towards Marine One. This disposition aligns with his well-recognized inclination to avoid protracted media interactions, a disposition that has already left its mark in history. Significantly, President Biden has refrained from engaging with media inquiries since news of the special counsel’s appointment broke.

Earlier on that very day, Attorney General Garland named U.S. Attorney David Weiss as the special investigator responsible for overseeing the Hunter Biden investigation and any potential related cases. Weiss’s selection as the federal prosecutor leading the inquiry into Hunter’s business dealings and levying charges against him in Delaware sends a robust signal that the Justice Department’s scrutiny of Biden’s son is far from concluded.

This sentiment was echoed in Garland’s affirmation on Friday, underscoring the persistent nature of the investigation. According to the Justice Department’s official press release, Weiss would serve as the special counsel “for the ongoing investigation and prosecutions referenced and described in United States v. Robert Hunter Biden, as well as for any other matters that arose or may arise from that investigation.”

This comprehensive phrasing leaves room for the possible involvement of additional Biden family members, perhaps even President Biden himself. The status of President Biden as a subject of this probe remains undisclosed. An inquiry made to a Department of Justice official earlier in the day for comment met with silence.
