National Archives officials have revealed the discovery of approximately 5,400 records containing pseudonyms that President Joe Biden employed during his tenure as vice president. The revelation came through a letter released on Monday in response to a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request filed by the conservative group, the Southeastern Legal Foundation.
The search for Biden’s vice presidential records unearthed around “5,138 email messages, 25 electronic files, and 200 pages of potentially responsive records.” These records were related to a FOIA request that sought information about three email addresses used by Biden to conceal his identity: [email protected], [email protected], and [email protected]. These addresses were occasionally used by Biden, including in correspondence with his son.
The National Archives had been prompted by the House Oversight Committee to release communications involving these aliases and any records containing correspondence between Joe Biden and his son’s business partners. This request arose from the context of emails found on Hunter Biden’s abandoned laptop, which indicated that Joe Biden’s vice presidential staff had shared his private schedule with his son on dates that coincided with significant moments in Ukraine relations. At that time, Joe Biden was overseeing matters related to Ukraine. Hunter Biden was associated with a Ukrainian energy company during this period, and Joe Biden’s actions as vice president had implications for that company.
House Republicans are particularly interested in these pseudonyms as they aim to establish additional connections between Joe Biden and his son’s foreign business ventures. The ongoing exploration of witness testimonies and documents has already uncovered several such links.
In essence, the discovery of these pseudonyms in archived records has brought attention to Joe Biden’s past use of alternate identities and their potential implications, particularly in relation to his interactions with his son and matters involving Ukraine.
