Nikki Haley, a Republican presidential candidate, is responding to Vivek Ramaswamy, another GOP nomination rival, who referred to her as “lying Namrata (sic)” on his campaign website. Ramaswamy, a biotech entrepreneur and author, attempted to clarify his foreign policy positions in response to criticisms from Haley.
In a recent interview with Fox News Digital, Haley stated that she wouldn’t engage in “childish name-calling” and indicated that Ramaswamy should “know better than that.” She mentioned that she has given up on expecting better behavior from him.
Ramaswamy’s campaign website had initially misspelled Haley’s Indian birth name as “Nimarata Randhawa.” This led to him receiving criticism for what appeared to be a reference to her Indian heritage. The website has since been corrected to the accurate spelling.
Haley criticized Ramaswamy’s foreign policy positions during a recent GOP presidential nomination debate. She accused him of lacking foreign policy experience and questioned his stance on issues such as U.S. support for Israel. Ramaswamy responded by emphasizing his commitment to deepening the U.S.-Israel relationship and leading efforts like “Abraham Accords 2.0” to strengthen Middle East ties.
The exchange between Haley and Ramaswamy highlights the intense competition and differing policy approaches within the Republican presidential primary race.
