During a recent episode of “The View,” Joy Behar placed blame on former President Donald Trump and the entire Republican Party for the flooding that disrupted the Burning Man festival in Nevada’s Black Rock Desert. The heavy rains had caused flash flooding, a shelter-in-place order, and extensive mud, stranding attendees in the temporary “Black Rock City.”

Behar and her co-hosts linked the flooding to climate change, with Behar calling it “one of the many tragedies this summer.” Her co-hosts agreed, with Sunny Hostin emphasizing that the region had received three months’ worth of rain in just 24 hours.

Behar went on to criticize Republican climate policies, particularly during Trump’s presidency, when she claimed fossil fuel usage had increased. She referred to climate change as the “number one existential problem” and urged viewers not to vote for Trump, describing him as a menace to the planet.

Co-host Ana Navarro joined the discussion, attributing recent events like wildfires in Maui and Hurricane Idalia to climate change. Behar continued to advocate for addressing climate change by reducing fossil fuel usage and implored viewers not to support Trump.

Governor Ron DeSantis of Florida responded to the climate change discussion, asserting that politicizing natural disasters and hurricanes is misleading. He emphasized that adopting left-wing policies at the federal level wouldn’t prevent hurricanes, citing historical instances of hurricane activity in Florida.

In summary, Behar and her co-hosts on “The View” blamed the flooding at Burning Man on climate change and used the opportunity to criticize Republican climate policies and former President Trump.
