Newly revealed text messages from December 2018 show that Hunter Biden, the son of President Joe Biden, sought financial assistance from his father, Joe Biden. In the messages, Hunter Biden told his uncle, James Biden, that he had run out of money and couldn’t afford school tuition for his three daughters or basic living expenses. He mentioned that he could work in New York City to make up the financial shortfall but couldn’t pay alimony without his father’s help.

James Biden responded by suggesting that Joe Biden could provide assistance, and he stated, “We as usual just need several months of his help for this to work.” The messages were part of documents released by the House Ways and Means Committee and were obtained by IRS whistleblowers investigating Hunter Biden’s financial dealings.

These text messages add to the ongoing scrutiny of Hunter Biden’s financial affairs, including his business deals abroad and allegations of influence-peddling. The messages also shed light on the financial entanglements within the Biden family and have fueled discussions about potential conflicts of interest and transparency.
