Former President Donald Trump mocked his opponents in the Republican Party’s 2024 presidential campaign during a rally in Michigan. Trump claims that his opponents are essentially applicants fighting for positions in a hypothetical government that will be established in 2024. He dismissed their hopes, saying they would “do anything, secretary of something, they even say VP,” but he doubted any of them could be really considered for the vice presidential post.

With his strong lead in recent Republican primary voter polls, Trump made it clear in his address that he believes he is the front-runner for the party’s nomination. He assured everyone that he would stay the Republican Party’s leader.

Sen. Tim Scott of South Carolina, Gov. Doug Burgum of North Dakota, Gov. Ron DeSantis of Florida, Gov. Nikki Haley of South Carolina, former Vice President Mike Pence, biotech entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy, and Gov. Chris Christie of New Jersey were the seven Republican candidates who participated in the most recent debate at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library. Polls have shown that Trump is the most popular candidate among Republican primary voters, and he has consistently surpassed the other rivals.
