New Jersey Lawmaker Trying To Shut Down Pro-Life Pregancy Centers

New Jersey Congressman Josh Gottheimer has launched a controversial campaign against pro-life pregnancy centers, accusing them of running “brainwashing cult clinics.” His claims revolve around allegations of deceptive practices and the promotion of dangerous medical information. According to Gottheimer, these centers do not provide adequate prenatal care and instead aim to manipulate and brainwash women with their ideological agenda.

In response to these allegations, Lighthouse Pregnancy Resource Center and the New Jersey Consortium of Pregnancy Centers have vehemently refuted these claims. They emphasize that their mission is to provide essential support to women and couples facing unexpected pregnancies and to offer assistance to underserved parents caring for newborns. They have consciously stayed away from political involvement and are dedicated to helping families break the cycle of generational poverty. Their focus is on expanding their medical services.

What further complicates this situation is the state’s attorney general issuing an alert against crisis pregnancy centers, although no documented problems have been revealed. The Consortium has been denied access to requested records that would justify the state’s claims, despite a court ruling that deemed such denial wrongful.

The NJ Consortium of Pregnancy Centers plays a pivotal role in offering free consultations, medical pregnancy confirmation, services led by licensed medical professionals, and parenting preparation supported by material aid.

It’s important to note that these allegations against pregnancy centers have stirred controversy and concern among those involved with these institutions. The lack of substantiated complaints and the denial of access to requested records add complexity to the situation, raising questions about the fairness and transparency of these accusations.

We will be keeping a close eye on the developments in this matter, as it has become a contentious issue in New Jersey.
