Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, the foreign minister of Iran, sent out a startling tweet in which he stated that time is “running out” for the state of Israel. This tweet was sent after an explosion took place in a hospital in Gaza that was run by Hamas, which resulted in the deaths of hundreds of people. The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) denied any involvement in the explosion, and intelligence gathered by the United States put the finger at a Palestinian terrorist organization as the perpetrator. In his tweet, Amir-Abdollahian called for international solidarity against Israel, referring to that country as “more hated than ISIS,” and described Israel’s acts as “killing machines.” He went on to warn that if the atrocities that have been committed against Palestinians are not halted, “other multiple fronts will open.” The vitriol surrounding the continuing war between Israel and Hamas reached a new level with the publication of this tweet. The Vice President of the United States, who was in Israel at the time, denied that Israel was involved in the explosion at the hospital and stated that it was committed by a terrorist organization.
