Joy Behar, a co-host of “The View,” blasted a Democrat who represents Michigan named Rashida Tlaib for her insistence on refusing to recognize that Israel was not to blame for an explosion that took place in a hospital in Gaza. Tlaib has repeatedly refused to acknowledge that Israel was not to fault for the disaster. Behar asserts that Israel did not play a role in causing the disaster in any way. She asserted that Tlaib was distributing false information in a manner comparable to that of the former President of the United States, Donald Trump, and compared her actions to his.
During a conversation on antisemitism that took place against the backdrop of the conflict between Hamas and Israel, the co-host, Alyssa Farah Griffin, criticized the remarks made by Harvard graduate students and other individuals who held Israel completely accountable for the ongoing bloodshed.
As Griffin rightly points out, “That is what Jews have faced not only since the Holocaust, but since the Holocaust itself.” They are one of the only organizations whose very existence is continuously questioned, and they are obliged to defend their right to function in this manner because they are obligated to do so. As a result, they feel driven to defend their right to operate in this fashion. It starts with the furthest point to the right and works its way all the way to the farthest point to the left. I have brought it to your notice in the past when it was situated on the right, and given that it has shifted to the left, I am going to bring it to your attention once more in this context. Rashida Tlaib and Ilhan Omar have both been accused of engaging in antisemitic behavior that might have potentially damaging effects.
Behar was the one who brought up the fact that Tlaib “still will not admit that that attack on the hospital came from Hamas.” Tlaib’s denial of Hamas’s involvement in the attack on the hospital was brought up by Behar. It was Behar who brought this matter to our attention.
Behar stood by her statement, which stated, “They have videos showing it, but she goes out there and lies like Trump.”
Co-host Sara Haines remembered a statement made by former President Barack Obama, who suggested that past Israeli administrations had attempted to achieve a two-state solution; however, such attempts had been consistently rejected by the opposing side. Haines noted that Obama said that such attempts had been regularly rejected by the other side. Haines described the speech and reported that Obama had indicated that such initiatives had been consistently rejected by the other side. Haines cited Obama’s comments as the evidence. Haines used a phrase from Obama’s remark in their conversation.
Sunny Hostin, who was serving as a co-host at the time, was the one who made the comment that “Hamas has not had a free democratic election since 2005.”
In a statement that was issued on Monday, Tlaib reaffirmed the narrative that had been offered by Hamas and declared that Israel was to blame for the explosion that had taken place inside of a hospital in Gaza. She said this in reference to the incident that had taken place on Friday. She stated that she cannot accept Israel’s accusations of guilt without raising questions, which is why she has been advocating for an inquiry to be conducted that is carried out in a manner that is both fair and neutral. Tlaib provided proof to back up her accusations by citing publications that were just recently made available by organizations like the World Health Organization and the Palestinian Red Crescent Society.
