    Kaepernick Lands HUGE DEAL!

Colin Kaepernick started something that I personally think he regrets now, even if he won’t say it out loud.

The NFL #TakeAKnee protests have caused quite a stir and he’s been having trouble finding a new team to play on. The problem is that nobody wants to play with him anymore.

Now, it seems, a little fortune has landed in the controversial football star’s lap in the form of a $1,000,000 book deal with Random House imprint One World. One World was launched just last year by Chris Jackson, who also publishes writings of Jay-Z and Ta-Nehisi Coates.

In case you’ve been living under a rock, the whole #TakeAKnee protest, where NFL players are kneeling during the national anthem, was started by Kaepernick last year at the start of the 2016-17 football season, as a backup quarterback for the San Fran 49ers.

He later opted out of his contract with the team and when the hopes of being picked up again were seemingly dashed he, through his reps, stated that he would stop protesting if another team would sign him. That didn’t work for the wayward quarterback either.

Oddly, the book may do well even for those of us against the #TakeAKnee protests as I’m sure we’ll all be interested in what he has to say about the entire debacle.

As reported by Ian Mohr for PageSix:

Ex-San Francisco 49ers quarterback Kaepernick launched the current movement of NFL players protesting during the national anthem, and he’s recently filed a controversial collusion grievance against league owners. He’s still looking for a job in the NFL after opting out of his 49ers contract earlier this year.

    […]

Page Six previously reported that Kaepernick had been seen “taking meetings with publishers in the New York offices of WME” to shop the planned book. He’s repped as an athlete by agent Carlos Fleming, and the book deal, we hear, went through Andy McNicol on the Hollywood agency lit department.
