Donald Trump, the former President of the United States, recently refuted allegations made by ex-Republican Representative Liz Cheney of Wyoming. Cheney, in her new book “Oath and Honor,” claimed that former House Speaker Kevin McCarthy visited Trump at Mar-a-Lago in early 2021 due to Trump’s supposed despondence over the 2020 election outcome. However, Trump, in a recent post on Truth Social, categorically denied these claims.

Trump stated that contrary to being depressed, he was, in fact, infuriated by the election results. He humorously remarked that his problem wasn’t a lack of appetite; rather, he was eating excessively. He emphasized that McCarthy’s visit was not because of his mental state, but to seek Trump’s support in unifying the Republican Party.

The former president also accused Cheney of harboring an intense bias against him, a condition he wittily termed “Trump Derangement Syndrome.” He criticized Cheney for her actions on the January 6th Committee and for her relentless opposition to his claims of election fraud. He highlighted Cheney’s significant loss in the 2022 GOP primary, where she was defeated by Harriet Hageman, attributing this loss to her opposition to him and her stance on the Capitol riot incident.

Cheney, a well-known critic of Trump, has used her book to extensively express her disapproval of Trump’s leadership, particularly his claims that the 2020 election was rigged and his alleged involvement in the events of January 6, 2021. Trump’s rebuttal on social media marks yet another chapter in the ongoing political rift between these two prominent figures in American politics.
