As the festive season approaches, President Biden faces a significant drop in approval ratings, with a recent shift in party allegiance among some of his previous supporters. On a “Fox & Friends” segment this Tuesday, a voter who switched from Democrat to independent expressed her disillusionment with the administration. Barbara Tulko, a former staunch Democrat, voiced her decision to back former President Trump, attributing her switch to what she perceives as Biden’s disconnect with the core concerns of Americans.
Tulko’s discontent stems from the increasing cost of living, border security worries, and a growing unease about visiting nearby New York City. “It seems the President is more focused on international issues than what matters to us here at home,” Tulko remarked.
Reflecting this sentiment, a Monmouth University poll unveiled a steep decline in Biden’s approval, sinking to 34%, marking his lowest point in Monmouth’s records since his inauguration. A significant 61% of Americans disapprove of his performance, with specific criticism directed at his management of immigration and inflation, which scored approval ratings of 26% and 28%, respectively.
This downturn in support has also been mirrored in hypothetical 2024 election scenarios. While Biden previously outpaced Trump in early polls for a potential rematch, trends from October onwards show Trump gaining a consistent lead over the current President.
