Hunter Biden, the son of President Joe Biden, is under legal scrutiny as a conservative group, America First Legal (AFL), filed a complaint against him with the District of Columbia Court of Appeals Board of Professional Responsibility. The complaint alleges “professional misconduct” by Biden, particularly a violation of the District of Columbia Rules of Professional Conduct 8.4.

The complaint, spearheaded by AFL, claims that Biden has engaged in a pattern of professional misconduct. Rule 8.4, under which the complaint was filed, deals with conduct involving dishonesty, fraud, deceit, or misrepresentation. AFL’s Senior Counselor and Director of Oversight and Investigations, Reed D. Rubinstein, stated that there is substantial evidence suggesting Biden’s involvement in professional misconduct, raising questions about his honesty and fitness as a lawyer.

AFL highlighted the rule’s provision that illegal conduct, such as offenses involving fraud and the willful failure to file income tax returns, reflects adversely on a lawyer’s fitness to practice. This reference is particularly notable in light of the federal tax charges Hunter Biden faces in California, involving a “four-year scheme” where he allegedly did not pay federal income taxes from January 2017 to October 2020 and filed false tax reports.

Hunter Biden pleaded not guilty in his initial court appearance earlier this month for the tax crimes. His trial is scheduled to begin on June 20. In addition, he also faces federal firearms charges in Delaware, including lying about drug use on a form to buy a gun, with a potential prison sentence of up to 25 years if convicted.

The complaint by AFL is part of broader ongoing investigations into Hunter Biden’s foreign business dealings and alleged influence peddling during his father’s tenure as vice president. These investigations are being conducted by the House Oversight and Judiciary Committees.

AFL has also filed a bar complaint in California against Hunter Biden’s attorney, Kevin Morris, alleging a violation of California’s Rules of Professional Conduct. Fox News Digital reached out to Hunter Biden’s legal team for comment but has not received a response.

This legal action adds another layer to the scrutiny surrounding Hunter Biden, particularly concerning his professional conduct and compliance with legal standards. The outcome of these proceedings could have significant implications for Hunter Biden and the ongoing political and legal discourse surrounding his activities.
