“Reacher” Star Alan Ritchson Blasts Trump-Voting Christians

Alan Ritchson, known for his role in the series “Reacher,” recently voiced strong opinions on conservative Christian voters during a segment on his YouTube channel, “InstaChurch.” In his video, Ritchson discussed a biblical passage from Jeremiah 22:2-3, which advocates for justice and kindness towards the oppressed, including foreigners and the disadvantaged.

Ritchson used this scripture to criticize what he sees as a contradiction between the professed Christian values and the political actions of some who claim to uphold these beliefs. He highlighted the disparity between the biblical call to protect the marginalized and the political practices that, in his view, do the opposite. Ritchson emphasized that the Christian duty to generosity and kindness should extend beyond religious, national, or cultural borders.

The actor’s comments have stirred controversy before, particularly following a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter in which he critiqued the alignment of some Christians with former President Donald Trump, whom he described negatively. He also expressed concern about the accountability of law enforcement in the United States, comments that sparked backlash from organizations like the National Fraternal Order of Police.

In response to criticism, Ritchson defended his positions on social media, arguing that the reactions to his views highlight issues within law enforcement and political discourse. He stated that the hostility he encountered was indicative of a broader inability to engage in peaceful disagreement, which he finds alarming.

This is not the first time Ritchson has blended his platform with political commentary, often drawing attention to what he perceives as significant social and ethical issues. His latest remarks continue to challenge the intersection of faith, politics, and social justice, inviting his audience to reconsider how their beliefs align with their actions in society.
