    NBC Anchor Says Goodbye After 26 Years

    Hoda Kotb, a renowned morning news anchor, has announced her departure from the Today show, capping an incredible 26-year career at NBC. After more than ten years as a regular on the Today show, Kotb announced her decision to quit the program in an emotional episode. She also thanked her coworkers and viewers for their unfailing support throughout the years.

    “It’s time to step away and embrace the next chapter of my life after 26 incredible years with NBC,” Kotb declared, clearly moved. Warm and approachable, Kotb has developed a close bond with her fans who have followed her career both on and off screen.

    During her time at Today, Kotb has played a number of positions. She began as a correspondent on Dateline NBC and eventually rose to prominence alongside Kathie Lee Gifford in the fourth-hour portion of the show. eventually, she was joined by Jenna Bush Hager in this role. In 2018, she was also chosen a co-anchor of Today, joining Matt Lauer as the first female anchor pair to anchor the show.

    Kotb mentioned that she is looking forward to spending more time with her family and concentrating more on personal projects, but she did not give specifics about her future intentions. “I’m excited for what’s ahead, but of course, I’ll miss this place and all of the incredible people I’ve had the honor of working with,” she said.

    It is unclear who will take over for her in the competitive morning show landscape that Today is navigating at the moment of her departure. Executives at NBC have thanked Kotb for her work over the years, highlighting her professionalism, friendliness, and ability to engage viewers.

    Coworkers, admirers, and other journalists have showered Kotb with praises as she gets ready for her farewell show, all recognizing the enormous influence she made while she was at NBC. With a special farewell segment, the show will salute her years of service to the network and the people who have grown to adore her, celebrating her legacy.
