Former New Jersey Governor Chris Christie has taken aim at Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, accusing him of inaction and a lack of transparency regarding the mysterious drone sightings plaguing New Jersey and neighboring areas. Christie expressed frustration over what he described as the federal government’s inadequate response to public concerns, particularly in his home state.

The controversy centers on a series of unexplained drone sightings that have sparked public alarm. Residents in affected areas have reported clusters of drones operating at odd hours, raising questions about their origins and purposes. Despite growing concern, Christie argued that Mayorkas and the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) have failed to provide clear answers or take decisive action.

Christie’s remarks highlighted a perceived lack of urgency, emphasizing the potential risks posed by the unexplained activity. He questioned whether the DHS has taken sufficient steps to investigate whether the drones are part of a classified exercise, a foreign surveillance operation, or a private entity’s unauthorized activities.

Local officials and residents have echoed similar frustrations, demanding greater transparency and urging federal agencies to clarify the situation. Meanwhile, DHS has maintained that investigations are ongoing but has declined to offer specifics, citing operational security.

Christie’s criticism adds pressure on Mayorkas and other federal authorities to address the mystery surrounding the drones. The issue has become a flashpoint in discussions about national security and government accountability, with public calls intensifying for a swift resolution and reassurance about safety measures in place.
