In a recent exchange on social media, U.S. Representative Summer Lee criticized the political right, asserting that their core beliefs are rooted in white supremacy and xenophobia, rather than the teachings of Christianity. She contended that the right’s values do not align with the life and instructions of Jesus Christ.

Senator Dave McCormick responded to Lee’s remarks, challenging her position. He suggested that individuals who have exhibited antisemitic behavior should not lecture others and defended citizens who advocate for freedom, opportunity, and secure borders.

Lee countered by emphasizing the importance of practicing Christian teachings, such as loving one’s neighbor and caring for the less fortunate. She questioned whether McCormick’s policies reflect these principles, citing issues like food assistance and immigration.

This dialogue highlights the ongoing ideological divide between progressive and conservative lawmakers, particularly concerning interpretations of religious values and their application to policy decisions.
