Judge Orders Trump Officials to Comply with Ruling, Restore Foreign Aid

In a decisive legal ruling, U.S. District Judge Amir H. Ali has mandated that the Trump administration promptly lift its suspension on nearly all foreign aid disbursements. This order reinforces a prior directive from February 13, which the administration had not fully implemented.

Judge Ali criticized administration officials, including USAID Deputy Secretary Pete Marocco, for maintaining a broad suspension of funds despite the earlier court order. He noted that instead of complying, officials appeared to devise new justifications for the continued halt in aid distribution.

While the judge refrained from holding the officials in contempt, he emphasized the necessity for immediate action to resume the flow of aid to various global programs. The suspension had affected numerous initiatives, including those addressing health crises and humanitarian needs.

This legal development underscores the ongoing tension between judicial mandates and executive actions concerning foreign aid policies.
