A group of female Democratic lawmakers made a coordinated statement at President Donald Trump’s address to Congress by wearing pink, a move they described as a symbolic protest against policies they argue undermine women’s rights. The demonstration was intended to draw attention to issues such as reproductive rights, equal pay, and healthcare access, which they claim have been negatively impacted under the current administration.

Many of the participating lawmakers remained seated during key moments of Trump’s speech, particularly when he discussed policies affecting women and families. While the protest was silent, its visual impact was widely noticed, sparking discussion both inside and outside the chamber.

Supporters of the demonstration praised the lawmakers for using their platform to make a statement, arguing that their attire served as a unifying message for women across the country. Critics, however, dismissed the act as political theater, accusing them of using symbolism rather than engaging in meaningful legislative action.

Despite mixed reactions, the protest underscores the ongoing tensions between the administration and Democratic lawmakers on gender-related policies. With debates on women’s rights continuing to take center stage in national politics, similar demonstrations are expected as both parties push their competing agendas.
