Bill Maher Rips Trump for “Flirting With Facism”

Weeks after sharing a cordial dinner at the White House, comedian Bill Maher launched a strong critique against President Donald Trump during his show, “Real Time with Bill Maher.”

Maher warned that Trump’s repeated jokes about being a dictator “only on Day One” and his comments about possibly serving a third term, despite constitutional limits, were troubling signs. He argued that such remarks risk normalizing authoritarian behavior, stating that dictator jokes rarely stay jokes and that political flirting with authoritarianism often leads to something far more dangerous.

Drawing a comparison to personal infidelity, Maher emphasized that even seemingly harmless flirtations can evolve into serious betrayals if left unchecked.

Despite the friendly tone of their recent meeting, Maher made it clear he remains committed to holding Trump accountable. He urged conservatives to take these warnings seriously, insisting that his willingness to engage with Trump in person should lend greater weight to his concerns.
