A 35-year-old man was taken into custody after allegedly torching a Tesla Cybertruck at a dealership in Mesa, Arizona, during a fiery early-morning assault that left the vehicle completely destroyed.
The incident occurred shortly after midnight, when authorities responded to an explosion and found the electric truck engulfed in flames. The suspect was located nearby, reportedly in possession of a gas can, fire-starting materials, and a hand-drawn layout of the dealership.
Surveillance video is said to have captured the suspect spray-painting the word “THEIF” on the building before igniting the blaze. Law enforcement is treating the case as a serious act of targeted vandalism and arson, with the investigation pointing to a possible link with recent anti-Tesla actions.
Federal charges are expected as officials classify the attack as a potential domestic threat involving critical infrastructure and property damage. The motive remains under investigation.
