Naomi Biden, the granddaughter of former President Joe Biden, issued a scathing public rebuke of the upcoming book Original Sin, which alleges that Biden experienced significant mental and physical decline during his time in office—claims she dismissed as fabricated and politically driven.
Taking to social media, Naomi called the book “political fairy smut” and accused its authors, Jake Tapper and Alex Thompson, of promoting baseless rumors under the guise of journalism. She further criticized the content as “unoriginal, uninspired lies,” defending her grandfather’s integrity and describing him as “completely good and honest.”
The book, set for release this week, reportedly contains excerpts from more than 200 interviews, citing anonymous accounts of Biden forgetting familiar people and discussions among his aides about preparing a wheelchair for potential future appearances. It also suggests that his inner circle downplayed his health challenges during the 2024 campaign.
Naomi’s remarks come just days after the announcement of her grandfather’s diagnosis with an aggressive form of prostate cancer, adding fuel to ongoing debates about the former president’s health, legacy, and the role of the media in reporting on public figures.
Her response underscores growing tensions between the Biden family and media outlets publishing critical portrayals of the former president in his post-White House years.
