A 33-year-old woman in Largo, Florida, is facing several charges after allegedly assaulting a 72-year-old man wearing a “Make America Great Again” hat at a local park.
Authorities say the confrontation escalated after the woman confronted the man over his political beliefs. She then reportedly poured a drink on him and struck him with the can. Witnesses said the incident appeared to be unprovoked.
Following the attack, the woman attempted to flee the area by jumping over a fence. Police officers later located and arrested her. During the arrest, she allegedly resisted, resulting in an officer suffering a minor injury.
The woman is now charged with battery on a person aged 65 or older, battery on a law enforcement officer, and resisting arrest. She was booked into jail and released the next day.
