Texas Congresswoman Jasmine Crockett sparked heated reactions after claiming that her Republican opponents would prefer to “throw her back in chains” if they could. The remark came during a televised interview where she discussed ongoing political tensions and accusations of racism within Congress.

Crockett, who has been outspoken in her criticism of GOP-backed legislation and rhetoric, said the atmosphere has grown increasingly hostile, particularly toward women of color. She suggested that some of her Republican colleagues harbor views rooted in historical oppression, prompting her to make the controversial statement.

The comments drew immediate backlash from conservative lawmakers and media outlets, who labeled them inflammatory and divisive. Republican leaders called on Crockett to apologize, while some accused her of using racially charged language to distract from substantive issues.

Crockett did not back down, stating that her words reflect the harsh realities faced by minority lawmakers and the policies being pushed by political opponents. She added that she intends to keep speaking out, regardless of the criticism.

The exchange underscores the widening partisan divide in Washington, as lawmakers continue to clash not just over policy but over the tone and language used in national discourse.
