Authorities said that shortly after the incident, suspected Minnesota shooter Vance Luther Boelter emailed his family a terrifying letter that read, “Dad went to war last night.” The text was sent just hours after he allegedly injured State Senator John Hoffman and his wife in nearby Champlin and assassinated former House Speaker Melissa Hortman and her husband in Brooklyn Park.

At both incident scenes, Boelter allegedly pretended to be a police officer by driving a car with flashing lights and sirens. In his abandoned car, police found weaponry and extremist materials, as well as a kill list listing about 70 political people. The texts imply a planned, ideologically motivated attack.

The 57-year-old suspect is still at large and is regarded as dangerous and armed. The FBI and other federal and state agents have begun a thorough manhunt. There is a $50,000 prize for reliable information that leads to his apprehension. Authorities ask that anyone who knows where Boelter is should notify them right now.
