Iran Shuts Down U.S. Negotiation Attempts as Israeli Assault Continues

Iran has flatly rejected retaking nuclear negotiations with the U.S., stating that diplomacy cannot proceed while Israel continues its military actions against Iranian targets. The refusal comes in response to President Trump’s public two-week deadline for resuming negotiations, which Iran dismissed as impossible under current attack conditions.

Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, speaking in Geneva, made clear that Iran will not engage directly with Washington until Israeli operations are halted. European diplomats from the UK, France, Germany, and the EU have urged Iran to reconsider, stressing that a window for peaceful resolution remains open—but Tehran maintains its position.

While Iran did not rule out low-level engagement through European channels, it remains firm that official talks must wait. President Trump, meanwhile, is preparing military strike options with his national security team should the deadline pass without progress. European leaders continue pushing for de-escalation through multilateral diplomacy, but tensions remain high.
