Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi condemned the recent U.S. airstrikes on nuclear sites, labeling them a “grave violation” of international law with “everlasting consequences.” He asserted that Washington acted unlawfully and in partnership with Israel, warning the global community to prepare for serious repercussions.

Araghchi reaffirmed Iran’s right to self-defense under the UN Charter, declaring that Tehran “reserves all options” to protect its sovereignty. The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) echoed this stance, identifying U.S. military bases in the Middle East as targets.

In response to the strikes, Iran launched ballistic missiles at Israel, and its parliament members approved the closure of the strategic Strait of Hormuz—through which about one-fifth of the world’s oil supply passes.

Meanwhile, Secretary of State Marco Rubio issued a stern warning that any Iranian retaliation would be met with a robust U.S. response. The international community has urged de-escalation, highlighting growing concern over a worsening regional conflict.
