Iran Launches Missile Attack on U.S. Airbase in Qatar

In response to U.S. airstrikes on Iranian nuclear sites, Iran launched a missile assault targeting Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar. Between 14 and 19 short- and medium-range ballistic missiles were intercepted by Qatari air defenses; one missile deviated harmlessly, and no casualties or structural damage were reported.

The strike, coordinated with Doha and dubbed “Operation Glad Tidings of Victory,” mirrored the number of bombs dropped by U.S. forces—signaling a symbolic reprisal rather than immediate escalation. Tehran notified Qatari authorities in advance, allowing military personnel at Al Udeid to take shelter.

President Trump dismissed the attack on social media as “very weak,” expressing gratitude for the early warning and urging diplomatic progress. The Qatari government condemned the strike as a violation of its sovereignty and invoked international law, while neighboring countries increased security measures and closed their airspace temporarily.
