Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard has accused former President Obama and senior officials of orchestrating a deliberate campaign to shape intelligence on Russian election interference. Gabbard claims this strategy was meant to delegate credibility away from the 2016 voting results and “subvert the will of the American people.”
Speaking on Fox News’ Hannity, Gabbard said her office declassified over 100 pages of documents—emails, memos, and reports—showing that senior figures including James Comey, John Brennan, and James Clapper were directed to develop a narrative that Russia had meddled, despite internal assessments proving otherwise. According to Gabbard, these officials continued the narrative even after evidence contradicted it, allegedly turning it into a “years-long coup.” She announced that the documents have been referred to the DOJ for potential prosecution.
Her revelations have sparked immediate backlash. Republican Senator Mark Warner dismissed the allegations as unfounded, affirming bipartisan intelligence findings affirming Russian interference. Democratic Rep. Jim Himes echoed that sentiment, citing a joint Senate probe that confirmed Russia’s role in 2016. Critics argue the accusations are politically motivated, pointing to the timing—coinciding with renewed interest in Jeffrey Epstein files.
