At a public event in Bradenton, Florida, Gov. Ron DeSantis was paying homage to wrestling legend Hulk Hogan—who died earlier that day—when he was abruptly interrupted by a profanity-laced protester.

Moments into DeSantis’ remarks recalling Hogan’s iconic WrestleMania III match, a man rose from the crowd and accused the governor of presiding over “Alligator Alcatraz,” angrily shouting: “Is that your f‑‑‑ing legacy?” He then called DeSantis and former President Trump “pedophiles” and “Nazis.” DeSantis told the heckler to stop and security escorted him out after about three minutes of disruption.

The governor had opened with personal reflections on Hogan, noting his impact on Gen X and Florida’s connection to the famed wrestler. The outburst cut short the tribute to an instant flashpoint, drawing attention to Gov. DeSantis’ controversial immigration policies, including support for the remote migrant detention facility dubbed “Alligator Alcatraz.”
