FBI Deputy Director Dan Bongino issued a powerful and personal statement on July 26, revealing that recent internal investigations into public corruption and political abuse within law enforcement and intelligence agencies profoundly disturbed him.
Speaking through his official social media account, Bongino emphasized that the Department of Justice is conducting all probes “by the book” and remains committed to uncovering objective truth through a “dignified effort.” He added that what he has learned in the course of those investigations has left him permanently changed.
He stressed: “We cannot run a Republic like this” and pledged to get answers the public deserves, promising transparency and accountability while resisting partisan narratives.
Although Bongino provided no specifics, his remarks come amid intensified efforts by FBI leadership to reopen high-profile investigations into suspected misuse of power by previous administrations.
