A South Carolina mother delivered a heartbreaking revelation: her 16-year-old son, Trey Wright, was not just a victim of youth violence—he was allegedly ensnared in a deadly setup engineered by the girl he trusted.
Trey, who had recently dated 17-year-old Gianna Kistenmacher for only a few weeks, spoke of their relationship as “like a dream.” But two days after telling his family that, he was tragically killed—amid what appeared to be a setup rather than a confrontation. Wright’s mother, Ashley Lindsey, recalls how he believed he was walking into a fistfight; instead, he walked into an ambush.
Surveillance and witness accounts indicate that Kistenmacher arranged the meeting, bringing 19-year-old Devan Raper—who then shot Trey. To make matters more chilling, she showed up at the hospital afterward. Wright’s mother, unaware of the betrayal, comforted her—only to later learn of Kistenmacher’s alleged role in the murder.
In total, nine teens from the Myrtle Beach area have been charged in connection with the homicide. Raper faces murder and weapons charges, while Kistenmacher is named as an accessory before the fact. The tragedy has rocked the community, leaving parents searching for answers and grieving a life taken far too soon.
