A boat carrying climate activist Greta Thunberg and others in a humanitarian flotilla bound for Gaza was struck by what witnesses described as a drone and caught fire in Tunisian waters. The vessel, known as the “Family Boat,” was part of a convoy attempting to deliver food and medicine to Gaza.
All crew and passengers aboard escaped unharmed. Fire was reported on the main and storage decks following the incident. Videos shared on social media captured the dramatic moment of impact and subsequent blaze.
Leaders of the flotilla condemned the attack, vowing that their mission—aimed at challenging the blockade and offering solidarity with Gaza—will continue undeterred. Amid rising tensions, international voices including the UN emphasized the urgent need to safeguard the remaining vessels engaged in the relief effort.
