Investigators are continuing an active search for the shooter who killed Charlie Kirk at Utah Valley University. The suspect, believed to be college-aged and dressed in all dark clothing, remains at large. Authorities have recovered a high-powered bolt-action rifle suspected to be the murder weapon from a wooded area near the university.
Law enforcement is analyzing video surveillance showing the individual arriving on campus around 11:52 a.m., moving through stairwells, ascending to a rooftop, firing the shot, then fleeing by jumping off the building and disappearing into a nearby neighborhood. Physical evidence, including footwear, palm, and forearm prints taken from the scene, is also being processed.
The FBI and Utah Department of Public Safety have released images of a person of interest and are asking the public for help. A reward of $100,000 has been offered for information that leads to the suspect’s identification and arrest.
Officials characterize the attack as targeted. The investigation is ongoing, with multiple agencies working together to piece together evidence and trace the suspect’s escape route.
