Charlie Kirk, 31, was fatally shot at Utah Valley University during a live event while debating mass shootings. Moments before the tragedy, he responded to a student’s question on the number of mass shooters in recent years—his final words were: “Counting or not counting gang violence?”
He was struck in the neck by a sniper-style rifle from a rooftop approximately 142 yards away. Despite being rushed to the hospital, he was pronounced dead later that same afternoon.
The suspect, 22-year-old Tyler James Robinson, was arrested two days after the incident. The investigation is ongoing, with authorities working to clarify motive and reconstruct the suspect’s movements leading up to the shooting.
