Pete Buttigieg has publicly acknowledged that President Joe Biden should not have sought re-election in 2024. Speaking on Meet the Press, Buttigieg said that if Biden had made the decision earlier, the Democratic Party might have fared better.
Buttigieg emphasized that the choice to run was Biden’s alone, noting that he was not involved in that decision-making process. He also echoed concerns raised by former Vice President Kamala Harris, who described Biden’s decision as “reckless” in her upcoming memoir.
Looking ahead, Buttigieg urged Democrats to focus on rebuilding and defining their future—both for the party and for the country—rather than dwelling on the past.
