A school resource officer in New York has been removed from her position after allegedly posting social media content that mocked the assassination of conservative activist Charlie Kirk.

The officer, Tanisha Blanche, employed by the Westchester County Police Department and assigned to Somers Intermediate School, is facing backlash over comments that were deemed to glorify violence and offend community standards. Among the posts, one message reportedly reacted to Kirk’s killing in a dismissive tone, while another referred to the suspected shooter in racially charged terms.

Local school officials called the remarks “completely unacceptable,” citing the importance of maintaining trust and safety in a school environment. The removal is temporary as Blanche is shifted to administrative duties while an investigation proceeds.

Authorities notified law enforcement and are examining the full extent of the posts, their impact on students and staff, and whether further disciplinary steps are warranted.
