Jamie Lee Curtis spoke emotionally on the WTF with Marc Maron podcast about the assassination of Charlie Kirk—despite their opposing politics. Though she disagrees with many of his views, Curtis said she respected Kirk’s religious conviction, calling him a “man of faith.”
During the interview, Curtis mistakenly referred to Kirk as “Charlie Crist,” then corrected herself, attributing the slip to seeing how strongly he embraced Christian faith. She expressed hope that at the time of his death, Kirk felt connected to his beliefs.
Curtis also discussed the psychological effect of repeated exposure to violent imagery. She compared the footage of Kirk’s shooting to widely known traumatic events—worrying that society may be growing numb to such violence and questioning what long-term impact that desensitization might have.
Kirk was killed on September 10, 2025, while speaking at Utah Valley University. The alleged shooter, 22-year-old Tyler Robinson, was arrested 33 hours later. Prosecutors plan to seek the death penalty.
